Common Mistakes / Confused Words
  Dairy and Diary
The words ‘dairy’ and ‘diary’, while having spellings that are confusingly similar, have no common meanings. 'Dairy' means anything that is derived from milk and 'Dairy' means written record of one’s personal experiences.
 
Dairy : means as an adjective, anything that is derived from milk, and a noun, an establishment that produces dairy products.
Diary : referring to a written record of one’s personal experiences.
 
Examples with 'dairy'
Curd and Butter are dairy products.
I am allergic to dairy products.
Examples with 'diary'
each week, our professor writes a brief diary about his previous week.
I write in my diary every day.
